Brief

A New Zealand bank had commenced an ambitious 5-year transformation agenda across all lines of business to position itself for future growth. Initial change work had been completed – whilst it had made some progress, it was deemed underdone and did not address the full nature of the transformational ‘people change’. Blue Seed Consulting was engaged to accelerate this stream to provide expertise and insights to help ready the organisation for its transformation by creating a baseline of organisational readiness and an initial assessment of key people change impacts.

Solution

Blending Blue Seed’s ‘Maturity’ and ‘Accelerator’ methodologies we created a best-fit solution to meet our client’s needs. Utilising our adapted products we ran a rapid process to establish current change maturity / organisational change readiness and consider people impacts.​  Blue Seed led and facilitated 26 highly interactive workshops held in multiple locations, with over 100 senior leaders and ran 1:1’s with each member of the organisation’s executive team. The outputs culminating in a comprehensive final report.

This work gathered real business insights and perceptions, which alongside our recommendations informed the next stage and focus for the people stream. Furthermore, our findings, insights and recommendations were tabled with the executive team and the Board to support the overall change management funding request.

Results

Blue Seed Consulting’s efficient and effective approach enabled representation from every business line and drew out key information in a limited timeframe. This work resulted in high levels of engagement, got leaders on the same page about the program and provided credible material which would go on to serve multiple purposes. Moreover, it created an important, but missing unified baseline and uncovered a compelling case for our client to apply a heavy focus on their people and change activities now. It was well-received for providing the light and colour that the CEO and the executive team had been seeking.
